Off The Record: Bad Eggs

...Me and my man. We was fucked up. I mean like no money, sitting in the gutter fucked up. This had to be about mm '94 - '95.. I was 18-19. I don't know how old Omar was, but I know he had me by a couple years. Anyway.. we was sitting deadass on the curb on 7th. He like, "Yo we gotta get some money man".. I'm like what we gon do?.. I wasn't hustlin at the time, I'm fresh home from school, with little to no credits, I was sellin' weed up there in college but that wasn't nofin. I made enough money to get fly and eat. Other than that, I was broke. But anyway.. Omar, like "Yo we gotta get some money.. come with me somewhere".. I'm like, where? He said "nigga we gonna stick up a cab"... So I'm like "aiight"..lol. We fucked up! know what I'm sayin? I'm like "aiight".

We walk over to the super market on hun'16 (116st) and Omar picked up a crate.. I mean a box of eggs out the garbage. You ever seen the big box of eggs? The shits the eggs come in at the super market? It's like this high.. and about this wide (draws the shape of the box with his hands), it say eggs on it or whatever.. But anyway, he get one of them shits and we walk over to hun'7 - hun'8 (107st-108st) and central park, 8'ff avenue right.

We get there, I flagged the cab down. I don't know if I remember if I knew he had the hammer on him or what, but this was the plan!.. He got the box, so I flagged the cab down. Cab stops, he passes me the box and said get in the back... I get in the back with the box actin like its all heavy (lol). He gets in the front and tells the cab driver to "take us to hun'17 between 7th and Lenox". This is before they did all them houses and shit. That shit was dead dark. It was a couple buildings over there, but that shit was fucked up. It might've been like 4 or 5 buildings, that people might've lived in, but the rest of that shit was abandoned.

Nigga! we get to a hun17, 7th and Lenox. As soon as we pull up, this nigga pulls out the tech & points the shit at him "GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!".. Cab driver get scared. And nigga I aint gon lie, I'm in the back like, "oh shit! I'm scared" (lol).. know what I'm saying (Lol).. He like "Gimme yo money! Gimme yo money!" so as he trynna scare the dude into giving him the money, the fuckin clip falls out.. the clip falls out the fuckin gun. So, now the nigga trynna jam the clip back into the gun and scare the dude at the same time with "Gimme yo money! Gimme yo money! You think I'm playin?!"

Yeeaaa, the nigga sittin right next to him! He passed me the box so I can get in the back and he sat in the front...you get what I'm sayin? The box so big, can't nobody else get back there. We had the box, one, so a cab could stop for us, cabs wasn't stopping for two young niggas, that wasn't happenin back then. Know what I'm sayin. The box would give the cab driver reason to open the front door, so he could sit next to him.. this was his plan, I ain't never do this shit before ...

..he had dude dig in his pockets, glove box, arm rest, even the little slot on the side of the door, all of that. Finally, we run off, we get outta there.. We running, I'm scared, I'm laughing cause of the clip shit.. Man, do you know, out of all that shit we did.. all we got was $4 and a beeper... I said, "I would never rob nofin ever again in my life b"
