Rules Of Engagement: Never Fall In Love.. Stand In It.

Updated: Jan 12

The purpose of this rule is not to diminish the concept of emotion, but to understand the effects of overindulgence. Nor is it specific to a single emotion; rather it should be applied to any area that may lead to excessive trust.

The term "love" is an insufficient label for an unpredictable emotion. "Love," for want of a better term, is merely learned behavior and/or conditioning of our perception of reality. Love, or the act of loving, can be likened to the mastering of riding a bike, when considered in its most basic form. It is achieved by repetition.

The rule Never Fall in Love; Stand in it should be analyzed in two distinct segments.

Never fall in love suggests not allowing your emotions for someone or something to overwhelm you to the extent that your judgment becomes impaired, preventing you from making clear decisions about managing the relationship.

Stand in it implies maintaining your true self. To never sacrifice your integrity to accommodate others while maintaining an unwavering position that will force them to respect you.

This rule provides the advantage of keeping your decision-making process clear. It ensures that each result stems from a sequence of carefully considered decisions, free from the influence of fluctuating emotions.

Rules Of Engagement R.O.E are a set of internal rules that define the degree and/or manner in which the use of strategic thought and action(s) are applied. Rules Of Engagement must be consistent, while accounting for a variety of potential uncertainties. Each rule is singular and can stand on its own to achieve the result in which you desire.. or rules can be assembled and utilized simultaneously. Rules of Engagement does not dictate how a result is to be achieved, but will guide what measures are unacceptable.
